Your Random Stat Anomaly of the Day

Take a look at last night’s scoreboard.  Notice anything odd?  Those are a lot of ticks towards the top of those boxes.

11 games, 10 wins for the away team.

I took a look, and since the 1989-90 the away team has never won 10 games in one single day.  The away team has won 9 games in a day four times since that season, but never 10.

It’s possible it’s never happened, especially since there were less teams (and therefore less days with many games scheduled), and three outcomes for games back then.

One thing is for sure: it’s a completely useless stat fact.  Congratulations, that might have just pushed a memory from sixth grade out of your head.
