What’s in a Name?

On April 23rd, at the Bell Centre, a hockey game “featuring several NHL Hall-of-Famers and Canadiens Alumni, will be unveiled” according to a Canadiens press release.

What’s it called?

The VIAGRA Legends of Hockey Classic

So now we’ve got a sponsor and a double entandre all in one.  Nice.

To be fair, here’s the release:

(MONTREAL, March 7, 2005) – The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation invites members of the media to a press conference at the Restaurant La Cage aux Sports of the Bell Centre on Wednesday, March 9, at 11:30 a.m. Details on the presentation of the VIAGRA Legends of Hockey Classic, a hockey game featuring several NHL Hall-of-Famers and Canadiens Alumni, will be unveiled.

The VIAGRA Legends of Hockey Classic will be held at the Bell Centre on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.  Former NHL coaches Michel Bergeron and Jacques Demers will act as head coaches for the event and will be in attendance at the press conference, where a preview of the team lineups and detailed ticket information will be unveiled.

This unique event will benefit the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation, with 100 percent of all ticket proceeds going directly to the Foundation.
