Red Sox-Orioles Eats Into Blackhawks-Predators

MLB’s Boston-Baltimore game started late due to a rain delay.  NHL Center Ice and MLB Extra Innings are currently sharing channels on many cable systems right now.  Unfortunately for those trying to catch the Hawks-Preds game on Center Ice, it means either a delay in start time or the game will be joined in progress.  There are 10 days left in the NHL regular season and this may not be the last time one game overlaps another.

There are a lot of channels being unused by my cable system, it’s a shame they can’t use any others during this time.  Baseball and hockey’s regular season overlap 16 days this year (not including the one lone nationally televised game to kick off the baseball season from Sun, Apr 2).  That may not seem like a long time on a calendar, but when you think of it as 9% of the season, it seems a bit more significant.

Update 835pm: I just noticed one channel, which was supposed to air the Washington-Houston, is no longer doing so.  Why not either move the baseball game or just air the Hawks-Preds game on there and scroll a quick message on the originally scheduled station?

Update 925pm: The Sox-Orioles game is over.  After a brief “Good Night” screen, the Hawks-Preds game came on, joined in progress.
