Hockey People Aren’t Alone About Pound
Lance Armstrong wants Dick Pound gone, and he’s doing more than just telling the press:
The seven-time Tour de France champion is asking the International Olympic Committee to force Pound to quit over his handling of doping allegations against Armstrong.
“Dick Pound has always been quick to admonish others and to call for officials accused of misconduct to be sanctioned and removed from involvement in the Olympic movement,” Armstrong said in a letter to the IOC.
“In my view, it is essential that the IOC executive committee and the IOC president recognize this is a critical situation that requires decisive action.”
Dick Pound has been quick to criticize the NHL’s performance enhancers testing policy which has brought criticism back in his direction (sample).
Pound has given the WADA a shoot first, ask questions later reputation that may eventually hurt the organization’s credibility, if it hasn’t already.
