Gaborik Needs to Pay Former Agents
The St. Paul Pioneer Press is reporting an arbitrator has ruled Marian Gaborik must pay former agents Allan Walsh and David Schatia negotiating fees for the $9.45 million contract Gaborik signed in October 2003.
It was unclear Friday exactly how much arbitrator James A. Gross awarded to Walsh and Schatia because the dispute was privately litigated under a gag order that forbids the parties from commenting.
The precedent established by similar cases, however, would peg the judgment between $255,000 and $425,000, according to sources familiar with the process.
The Pioneer Press also has key dates in the dispute between Marian Gaborik and his former agents.
